Comoros Independence Day
May 20 is the Unity Day holiday in Cameroon. On May 20, 1972, in a national referendum, Cameroonians voted in favor of a solid-state against the current federal state. The United Nations Trust Territory, known as French Cameroon, gained independence from France on 1 January 1960, and British Southern Cameron became a trustee under British administration on 1 October 1961 in a federated state within Cameroon. Status changed. The government has designated May 20 as Cameroon’s national day. President Ahmadinejad commemorates the end of the federal system of government in 1972 in favor of a united country.
