The Gambia officially the Republic of Gambia is a country in West Africa. The mainland is the smallest country in Africa and is bordered by Senegal in addition to the west coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The Gambia is located on both sides of the lower reaches of the Gambia River, the name of a nation that flows through the middle of the Gambia and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. It covers an area of 10,689 square kilometers (4,127 square miles) and has a total population of 1,3687,181 as of the April 2013 census. Benji is the Gambian capital and the country’s largest metropolitan area. The largest cities are Sirconda and Burma.
